Middle East crisis
MCC is appealing for $500,000 to assist partner organizations in Syria and Lebanon in response to escalating civil unrest. About 20,000 Syrians have already fled to Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. MCC's response includes sending relief kits, providing emergency food and medicine and supporting the grassroots community to bring peaceful solutions.

Essay contest winner from Goshen explores faith and politics
Congratulations to Maria Thomas, a senior at Bethany Christian High School in Goshen, who won grand prize for her essay in the Mennonite Central Committee U.S. Washington Office annual essay contest. In her essay, “Faith, Values and Voting,” Thomas discusses the historic connection between faith and politics. Peter Schrock from Bethany Christian High School also won honorable mention in the contest.
