Everyone is invited to attend the annual Celebrate MCC Gathering with MCC Great Lakes on February 24-25 at Berlin Mennonite Church in Berlin, Ohio.

Following the earthquake of January 2010, MCC Haiti initiated 40 projects, working entirely with Haitian partner organizations to implement these relief efforts. Projects have varied in scope from addressing immediate needs, to more systemic changes.

The Country Closet Thrift Shop in Plain City, Ohio, opened for business only one month after a fire destroyed their former location, including all the inventory and fixtures.

Over 200 men came together from three relief sale choirs to sing in a musical performance benefitting MCC.

Summer is always the busiest time at the four Sharing with Appalachian People (SWAP) locations in Kentucky and West Virginia. Several new staff members have joined the SWAP team since last year, each bringing their own experiences and expertise.

Tiya Sumihe from Papua, Indonesia, finished her IVEP (International Volunteer Exchange Program) term with MCC in July. She reflects over her past 11 months of service in Goshen, Indiana.
|
Trisha Fallon finished her one-year SALT (Serving and Learning Together) term with MCC in July. Fallon, whose home congregation is College Church in Wheaton, Illinois, served as a teacher’s assistant at Arab Episcopal School in Irbid, Jordan.

Urgent need: The meat canning currently taking place in Goshen, Indiana, is in need of funds to pay for the 77,000 pounds of turkey and operation costs for the nine-day event. As MCC canned meat is being distributed in Haiti, consider joining with this local meat canning effort.

The mobile meat canner is making its way through the Great Lakse region. In January, it will stop in Freeport, Illinois, where they hope to can 18,000 pounds of turkey.
