Anti-oppression

Damascus Road Training on March 30 - April 1, 2012: Damascus Road Anti-Racism Analysis Training at Goshen College in Goshen, IN. The purpose to this two-and-a-half day workshop is to lay the foundation for the long-term work of dismantling racism. It is design to equip participanst with the theological, analytical, organizing and communication skills they will need to being the process of antiracist transformation in their own institutions. The training, co-sponsored by MCC Great Lakes and Goshen College, helps articulate the Biblical call to anti-racist action and presents a common language for talking about racism. Summer Service Worker Program: The MCC Great Lakes Summer Service Program is a short term leadership development program for young adult constituents of color between the ages of 18-30 who are from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Constituent churches and related organizations create and submit proposals to MCC Great Lakes about the kind of leadership engagement they foresee a young adult from their home church/community completing in that church/community during a period of six to ten weeks between the summer months of June-August.
