Sharing with Appalachian People (SWAP)
Using the efforts of volunteers, SWAP addresses sub-standard housing in eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. Participants will work with and for local clients "In the name of Christ", sharing the message of God's love and building relationships that serve to enrich all involved.
If you are looking to "put feet to your faith" and are interested in ministering to the communities of Appalachia for a week, month, year or more, take a moment to review our site and ask God what might be in store for you. SWAP is open to volunteer groups ranging in size from 2 to 55 volunteers, 15 years or older (some "family" times available) and who are 'called' to participate in our mission of Sharing With Appalachian People. Applicants for SWAP summer staff must be at least 19 years of age.
Visit the SWAP website for much more information about the largest program of MCC Great Lakes.
